Lodging

Camp Lapihio at Umstead State Park has three and four person cabins, divided into four groups, with a latrine at each group. There is a shower house near the mess hall for all participants. The cabins have bunks with mattresses. The mattresses are on top of plywood, so they are firm. All are lower bunks and the mattresses can be placed on the floor, if desired. Everything else you need for your comfort you must provide: pillows, sheets, blankets or sleeping bag. There is no heat in the cabins, washrooms, or recreation hall — and no electricity in cabins. Come prepared for the changeable April weather.
